I’ve been wanting to update the site logo since like a day after I uploaded the last one. It was only ever meant to be temporary but I’ve been so busy lately I wasn’t able to commit time to updating it until just now. It’s not that I didn’t like the previous one, and in a lot of ways the new one is simply an adaptation of the old inkblot. Anyway, now we have a fancy new site logo, one I spent a fair bit of time on. The real trick of it was the teeth. I drew the old one and also drew the new one; I’m too cheap to hire a graphic designer and went to a digital art school. I really like the new logo and frankly expect it to stick around for a fair bit.
Among the changes included, I switched the location of the big and small eyes, finally opened up the mouth a little. I went ahead and added a body to the logo, even if I have never actually worn a suit. To me, it seemed to be a nice way to continue the reduced color scheme. Oh, also dropped out the shaded grey, instead opted for a simple two-tone icon. Ultimately I think this fits the site and theme nicely and I will be using it for the foreseeable future. As we move forward into the future, I find myself thinking a lot about what to do with the site and consider this a very small start to actually using this site for something other than taking up internet space. Anyway, bla bla bla; I don’t even care if you like the logo.
Below you can find a full resolution version of the old and new logos for inspection.
Note: This is a fairly old change at this point, but I only just found the unposted draft. Better late than never, I suppose.
