Overview
Masochisia is a narrative-driven psychological horror adventure where you play a young man who discovers, through hallucinations and disturbing encounters, that he is destined to become a violent psychopath. The game explores abuse, mental illness, and fate through point-and-click gameplay, symbolic puzzles, and deeply unsettling imagery, aimed squarely at mature audiences.
My Role
Unity gameplay engineer on Masochisia, focused on implementing and supporting core gameplay systems and tools inside a small indie production.
Key Contributions
- Helped implement and maintain gameplay systems in a Unity-based point-and-click horror adventure with a strong narrative focus.
- Worked within tight constraints to support scene flow, interactions, and event triggers that drive the story and pacing.
- Collaborated with the developer on iteration of in-game events and behaviors to preserve tension and psychological horror tone.
- Supported cross-platform considerations so the title could ship on Windows, macOS, and Linux via Steam.
Tech Stack
- Unity
- C#
- 2D narrative / point-and-click adventure tooling
- Cross-platform build and deployment for Steam (Windows, macOS, Linux)
Why This Example Matters
- Demonstrates experience contributing engineering work to a shipped commercial psychological horror title on Steam.
- Shows the ability to support narrative-heavy design and pacing rather than purely systems-first gameplay.
- Reinforces familiarity with Unity in a small, indie production where engineers work across multiple areas under tight constraints.
- Multiplatform support.
